Why We Do It
Due to dietary sensitivities, Marty had to discontinue drinking coffee several years ago. Coffee was something Marty really loved and missed drinking. As we worked with her dietary restrictions and tried to find solutions which did not make her sick, we discovered various ways in which coffee is roasted and the chemicals in the coffees. Through our searching, we discovered a way to roast coffee that did not make her sick. She was so excited that we had to start our own roasting business.
Clean, Hot Air Roasted Coffee
A healthier, better tasting coffee
Clean hot air roasted coffee produces a better tasting healthier product. Our coffee is less bitter and acidic producing a smoother, richer flavor.
Why is our coffee better?
Our coffee is better for two reasons, it is always fresh and the method we use to roast.
1.) Our coffee is always fresh. Your coffee is ALWAYS made to order and never sits on a shelf for days on end. Coffee is best when fresh and our customers typically receive their coffee within three days of being roasted.
2.) Hot air roasted coffee uses convection heat to loft the beans for a very even heat transfer. The “Clean Bright Taste” people rave about is achieved by roasting the bean quickly and evenly while suspended on a bed of hot air. You will find this coffee less much bitter then traditional drum roasted coffee..

How We Do It
Bean Crafters uses a Coffee Crafters® Artisan 3.0 Roaster. Through hot air roasting, debris and chaff (the outside of a coffee bean, similar to the hull of popcorn kernal) that coffee produces are removed during the roasting process. Most roasters use natural gas roasters trapping the chaff and other debris in the drum when roasting. This then burns in with the coffee, producing chemicals in the coffee that do not sit well with many people. Additionally, this debris and chaff alters the flavor of the coffee. Using the hot air roasting method, this debris and chaff is removed in the roasting process leaving behind a clean, flavorful cup of coffee.
